I just can’t believe Ford’s software developers are focused on things like karaoke when we’ve been waiting over a year now for Blue Cruise 1.4. Also, I heard the matrix headlights would be cool to have. We know the software is there but it’s weird they haven’t released it yet. At least Apple CarPlay connects better now and I don’t have that crackling issue anymore.
I admit the karaoke update is kind of silly, but I got the battery percentage update in Google Maps in the same one, so it was a great update for me.

That sounds useful. I usually get the update 48 hours after I see people posting about it, so anytime now.
If we already know it’s there and can be turned on, we’re probably not waiting on the software developers. Ford is probably holding it back for some sales strategy. Someone smarter than me can explain if that’s the case. Maybe it’s easier for them to keep customers waiting like Elon does.
@Lyonnel
Us early adopters with free BC expire in June… I’m betting it will be around then. I’m looking at grabbing Comma AI at this point.
@Lyonnel
Yeah, I agree. The software experience is the only bad part of this vehicle so far. I like everything else but the software.
@Lyonnel
Blue Cruise 1.4 needs a massive update for the IPMA module, which is linked to the front sensor CSP. My guess is Ford sent out the CSP to prepare for the update, and will release BC 1.4 once most users have had this CSP done.
I just enabled them with Forscan. They’re awesome.

Most people don’t want to spend $1k on an adapter and software and get a Windows PC just to update their car when it’s supposed to get OTA updates.
@Oakley
Well, you can spend $1k, or buy a $30 adapter off Amazon and use the free software trial.

Which adapter did you use? The recommended USB I saw was $70, and maybe $12 for the paid version of Forscan, I think.
@Abby
Here’s the link: Amazon.com
Do a free trial for the software and get a code for 3 months.

How long does the free trial last?

Don’t you also need to get an expensive power unit to keep the battery level high while you do these long updates?
@Oakley
I think you have the wrong idea on what’s being updated. You just change characters and update with the click of a button. You can change a lot of settings with this process, like sounds, lights, locks, etc.
@Josie
Can you enable Blue Cruise though? That was mentioned in the original post.

Ah, I see where the confusion came from. I meant to reply to the matrix headlight comment.
@Josie
No problem! I appreciate the helpful info.

Once you have the CSP for the front sensors done and are on 6.14 OTA at least, you can enable Blue Cruise 1.4 via Forscan.
@Tanisha
Oh really?
