What's the firing sequence for the 2001 4.6 Triton?

Hey, I’ve got a misfire in my number five cylinder and I’m trying to sort out the firing order of my engine. When you’re facing the front of the truck and looking at the engine, do you happen to know the cylinder layout?

I need to replace the coil and spark plug, and knowing the layout would be a big help.

According to my Chilton manual, the firing order for your engine is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. And just so you know, cylinders 4 and 8 are at the back.

Oh yeah, Ford plugs are solid. When I swapped out the plugs on my '97 4.6, I went with Ford ones. Autolite plugs are pretty common too. You’ll probably hear from some others with their recommendations soon.
