What’s the general opinion on the 2002 GT? I’m exploring options for a fun weekend car that’s rear-wheel drive and has a manual transmission, and the 2002 GT seems to hit a lot of the marks for what I’m looking for. I’m not aiming for something super fast, just a car that’s enjoyable to drive around. Right now, it’s between this and a 2007 G35 coupe with 80K miles. I don’t know a whole lot about either of these models, so I’d really appreciate any insights or personal experiences you might have with the 2002 GT. How does it hold up, and is it a good choice for what I’m looking for?

It might not be lightning-fast in its stock form, but it’s incredibly fun to drive and can handle daily abuse that would be too much for most other cars.

$10,000 for a 22-year-old car is overpriced, regardless of the current economy.

, I agree with you, there’s no way I’d pay the asking price. I was actually more interested in hearing about the platform itself.

He’ll likely get at least $7,500 for that car, assuming it’s not completely rusted out, especially since it’s in Massachusetts. It’s tough to find anything older than about eight years here that isn’t already covered in rust on every panel.

I regularly see beat-up 240SXs that are 30 years old selling for that kind of money, so I have to disagree.

That doesn’t mean it’s a wise choice.
