What is this hanging down under my 2024 F250 King Ranch?

My truck has 5k miles on it, and I noticed a piece hanging down on both sides. I’ve been searching online but haven’t found anything helpful. Anyone else know what this is?

It’s a ride height sensor. That rod should be attached to the sensor under that white sticker with the ‘A’ and a QR code.

That makes sense. What exactly does it do? Everything seems fine, no codes or warnings on the dash.

@Dany
I think PetitPoulet98 was right—it’s probably for keeping your headlights aligned with the road, no matter how much load you have.

Obligatory r/fuckyourheadlights

@Dany
There are probably no codes because it’s reading fully extended. Ideally, they would set it to throw a code when it’s disconnected. But since it doesn’t seem to control anything critical, they likely didn’t bother.

@Dany
It might also adjust the brake proportioning valve to stop your rear brakes from locking up when there’s no load in the bed.

It’s the auto-leveling headlight sensor. It should be connected to the module above it. I’d take it to the dealer—it should be a quick fix under warranty.

It’s a kickstand for when you get a flat tire… state-of-the-art technology!

Haha, if only! Forget jack stands, we’ve got kickstands now!

It’s for pogo-sticking over puddles so you don’t mess up the wax job.

That’s your emergency brake.

It’s the blinker fluid pulley arm.

Kanuter valve actuator. Helps operate your kanuter valve.

It adjusts the headlights, brake proportioning, and probably helps weigh the load too since there are two of them.

That’s what we call “the pp” in the industry. Congrats, your truck’s a boy! :tada:

Does your truck have air suspension? If so, it could be the ride height sensor.

@AmeliaDriver
No air suspension, but it does have the auto weight option. I thought it might be related to that, but I’m not sure.

It could be a sensor for adjusting the headlights when you put weight in the bed.

It’s probably part of the onboard scale that measures how much weight is in the truck.
