Hey everyone, quick question. What’s a good tire pressure for Mustang owners? My tires say max 50 psi, but that seems high. Thoughts?
Man, it’s all about what works best for your setup. I run 30 psi on mine, even though my tires can go higher. Keeps things smooth for me.
Dang, I’ve been running 27 psi on my old Fox-body with those 245/50R16 tires. It’s a bit lower than stock, but it’s worked out for me.
Yeah, I heard those tire pressures are based on load ratings. Like, the bigger tires can carry the same load at a lower pressure. I usually keep mine a bit higher to avoid rolling onto the sidewalls when driving hard .
Just be careful with that, bro. Running higher pressure might mean losing grip on rougher roads. Better to get tires with stiffer sidewalls and stick to the right pressure.
Good advice for most people, but I’ve got my setup dialed in. No worries about me .
Physics is physics, man. But hey, you do you.
Who said anything about cheating physics? I’ve been driving like this for longer than you’ve probably been around, so no need to worry about me.
Yup, because the internet always makes you right, right?
I usually keep a bit more sidewall too. Helps me feel the road better during turns.
Wider tires generally mean less pressure, but I just go by what feels right based on how much of the tire is making contact with the road.
