One good thing: you can use the antenna to unlock the truck if you leave the keys inside lol

At least the whole thing is metric. Mixed systems on different parts are the worst.

Better than the E torx that GM uses. I had to buy an entirely new socket set just for my GM car.

They really don’t want us fixing our own stuff :joy:

My 86 F250 is awful. The body is metric, but the mechanical parts are SAE. Sometimes, I swear they threw in British Whitworth just to mess with me because nothing I own fits.

Water pump uses the timing chain cover as a backplate. I found that out the hard way after replacing the head gaskets and filling the engine with coolant and oil, only to find a milkshake on the dipstick. The water pump had a massive hole in the cover. Went to the junkyard, got a new cover, put everything back together, and it’s still running strong with over 300k miles.

Wow, that’s crazy!

I use the antenna on my ‘94 B4000 to unlock the door all the time.

I can unlock my truck with almost any key, and I can take the key out while it’s running.

I miss my old Jeep for that. You could pull the key out while it was running and lock the doors manually because the power locks didn’t work. Good luck stealing it though because the trunk wouldn’t open.

I have a '99 3.0 XLT, and I feel your pain. Don’t even get me started on the tailgate assembly.

But they did a great job on the rest.

Haha, true.

Putting the slave cylinder in the bell housing was a terrible idea.

Also, putting the master cylinder at such an angle that it’s impossible to bleed without taking it out.

The whole clutch system was a mistake.

I came here just to see if anyone mentioned the clutch system.

That one cost me.

Plastic thermostat housing on the 4.0? What were they thinking?

Exactly! Who thought that was a good idea?
