What are people's opinions on the looks of second-gen Mach 1 Mustangs?

What do y’all think of the second-gen Mach 1 Mustangs? Do they look good or nah?

No way they’re ugly! My first car was supposed to be a '72 Mach 1, but at the last second, my buddy who owned it couldn’t let go because it was his first car. Sadly, he just left it sitting outside for years, and now it’s just rust. I ended up with a “piece of junk” Foxbody instead.

Hold up… we talking about that Foxbody though?

Yeah, I know it’s not the most popular platform, but man, I love my Foxbody.

Not everyone on f/enclave loves it, but honestly, the Fox is huge in the race/drag scene. That’s a slick ride you’ve got

Thanks, dude! The aftermarket scene for them is wild. I’m slowly building a new engine for it, just taking my time since I’m on a student budget.

Nice! Foxbody’s got one of the biggest aftermarket options out there, especially if you buy used parts. What upgrades are you doing? I’ve got a ’94 GT with the 5.0 myself.

Well, I’ve got a mostly stock short block, but last weekend, while assembling, one of the piston rings broke halfway down the bore and messed up the cylinder wall :weary:. Now I’ve gotta bore it out and get new pistons. But I’m running twisted wedge 170 heads, an RPM2 intake, and a Lunati 51014 cam, with a V1 S-trim supercharger that’s way over-pulleyed.

By the way, I almost bought a ’94 Saleen… that thing was gorgeous, but the owner didn’t tell me it had been wrecked. Once I got it on the lift, it was obvious.

Damn, that setup sounds like a blast! You’re probably aiming for around 400-450 horsepower, right? Do you do all the work yourself?

Yeah, I’m doing all the assembly myself. I’ve gotten tight with the guys at the machine shop, and they’ve let me do a lot of the machining, like surfacing the heads and cutting valve seats, for free under their supervision. It’s been a good learning experience. I’m keeping the boost low and the tune conservative because the block might not handle too much power.

Smart move. That’s really awesome. Where are you at? I wish I could find someone around here to teach me hands-on like that. I’m in SoCal.
