I’m having issues with my tire pressure monitoring system. Can anyone help me figure out what’s wrong?
It’s likely that the battery for the sensor has died.
The sensor’s battery is probably dead. You might need a new sensor. The others might fail soon too, so it could be best to replace all four.
Consider buying your own sensors and bringing them to discount tire. The dealer might charge you a lot to replace all four if you decide to do it preemptively.
As a tech for Ford and Lincoln, I recommend against buying aftermarket TPMS. They might not work properly or get trained well, and they generally don’t last as long as OEM ones.

My car already has 150k miles. How long do the aftermarket ones usually last compared to the official ones?
@Ethan_johnson
I’ve seen aftermarket sensors fail to train and only last about a year. They can be quite risky.
Maybe it’s out of gas.
If you bring your own sensors to Sam’s Club, they’ll replace them for $5 each. I got a set of OEM Motorcraft sensors for about $50 on eBay and had them install all four.
Many other places want $60 to $100+ per tire.
@Remington
That’s great! I have a Sam’s Club membership, so that’s an easy option. I can’t spend another $300 on my car right now.
This happened to my 2024 Edge last week.
I had this notification pop up on my 2020 Explorer.
