I have a 2016 F150 XLT SuperCrew with a 6ft bed. I’m seeking advice on suspension upgrades to handle high speeds on unpaved forest roads with lots of potholes and washboards. I’m considering Falcon, Icon, Fox, and King options. I’d also like some lift while maintaining a rake for towing.
I’ve used Bilstein 5100, Fox 2.0 (all three), Fox 2.5, and King 2.5 shocks. I usually drive on forest roads, access roads, and old farm roads (no slow rock crawling). I’m really happy with my Kings—they might be more than I need, but they work great for me. Whatever you choose, I recommend getting something that can be serviced and adjusted to your preference.
Go with King or Fox for high-speed off-roading; they excel on washboards. Falcon & Icon also great. Add a 2-3" lift kit, and use adjustable shocks to maintain rake for towing. Consider stronger springs.
