Service advancetrac and abs light on

I have a 2017 Ford Fusion and I’m experiencing several issues. The “service AdvanceTrac” message appears, followed by the ABS light coming on. The speedometer bounces, and there’s a clicking/buzzing sound in the dash before the lights appear. The traction control light also comes on, and the car won’t accelerate over 15 mph. The dash light stays solid for a while before occasionally going off, even though the roads are dry. Additionally, when I try to brake, it feels like the ABS is trying to engage. What could be causing these problems?

Some potential causes of your car’s malfunction include:

  • Faulty wheel speed sensors: These sensors are crucial for the ABS and AdvanceTrac systems. If one or more are malfunctioning, it can trigger warning lights and affect vehicle performance.
  • ABS module problems: The ABS module controls the anti-lock braking system. If it fails, it can cause the ABS light to come on and affect braking performance.
  • Steering angle sensor issues: This sensor helps the vehicle understand the direction you’re steering. If it’s faulty, it can cause the AdvanceTrac and ABS lights to come on.

To fix the issue, you should scan for the error codes using the OBD2 scanner to help pinpoint the exact issue. After knowing the exact issue, I believe from there you just try fixing it if you can. If you can’t, it may be best to consult a qualified mechanic for a thorough diagnosis and repair.
