I finally knocked a major task off my list this weekend. I applied a protective rubberized coating to the underside of the bed and sprayed rust converter where necessary. It took around 3 hours, which wasn’t too bad. The last photo is from a short trip I took—beautiful sunset!
Did you change out the filler neck on your gas tank?
Amazing job Bro, BRAVO!
4.0 SOHC XLT FX4 '02 Really like the two-tone look, it makes the Ranger look great.
That sounds great. I’m thinking of doing this to my 2011 model before the snow hits here in Colorado.
What type of coating did you use? I’m about to lift my bed soon to work on the filler neck and am thinking about doing some additional tasks while it’s raised.
Feel free to look at my profile to see that I completed the entire rear frame. For the bed, I removed the heat shields, scraped away any loose rust, and then applied primer and paint using a standard rattle can Rust-Oleum product.
That’s a great-looking Ranger! I might consider doing a two-tone design on my red Ranger if the rocker panels end up getting too many rock chips.
