New to modding… How can I make my Fusion a bit louder without making it sound bad? (2015 SE)

I want to make my Fusion sound a little deeper and louder, but I don’t want it to be all raspy or annoying. Also, I’m on a budget. Any suggestions?

I’ll sit in the passenger seat with a trombone and play every time you hit the gas.

I’ve tried this, but you gotta put the trombone player in the backseat. The slide is way too long for the front.

Just make sure to do the sad trombone sound when he floors it… Wah-wah-wahhhhhhh.

Saw you’re a college student… don’t mess with it. Maybe throw some tint on it so you’re not in a fishbowl, but don’t start dumping money into mods just for it to break down. Then you’re stuck with no car and no money.

Yeah, I’m not trying to go crazy with mods. So far, I just swapped the grille and installed Apple CarPlay. Not even planning on buying rims.

What engine do you have? Honestly, most Fusion engines, especially the 4-cylinders, don’t sound that great no matter what you do. The car looks nice, though. Wish Ford didn’t kill it off in the US. Would’ve been cool if they made a true sport sedan with a turbo or supercharged 3.5L EcoBoost and AWD. Handles great, just needed more power.

@Victor
Every second-gen Fusion had a 4-cylinder except for the ‘17-‘19 Sport, which had a 2.7L twin-turbo V6 with AWD. That one also had active suspension to keep it stable.

@Victor
I’ve got the 1.5L 4-cylinder. I didn’t go for the EcoBoost because my uncle, who’s a really good mechanic, warned me about all the issues. Totally agree, the Fusion has great handling. Just looking for a small change to make it not sound like a vacuum cleaner without doing anything crazy.

@Clayton
The 1.5L is the EcoBoost with all the issues…

If you have the 2.5L, just leave it alone. It might not be exciting, but it’ll last forever… like a tractor.

Don’t do anything. Keep it stock unless you want it to sound like a lawnmower.

Following this… curious too.

Nice clean setup.

Try a Boomba blow-off valve for that turbo sound, and maybe a performance muffler.

Why do people think a loud car is cool? A slow car making a bunch of noise isn’t impressive.

Delete the catalytic converter and resonator, but keep the muffler. It’ll sound deeper without being obnoxious… and it’s cheap.

That’s also illegal in a lot of places.

Yeah… depends on where you live. Some places don’t check, so it’s up to him.
