New engine recall news… who else is waiting?

Many people have been affected by the engine recall, and I wanted to share my story:

I have a 2019 EcoSport with 58k miles that has been stuck at the dealership since June waiting for a new engine because of the recall. It’s frustrating since my car is far from home, but Ford has been providing rentals this whole time (I had a '24 Mustang and a '22 Edge) through my local Hertz. I just got a message today saying the new engine has arrived, so I might get my little car back sooner than the January 2025 date I was expecting. I’ve heard I will be getting a recalled oil pump installed with the new engine, and I can have it replaced when the parts are available.

I hope the new engines are reliable for everyone

That’s fantastic news! Mine has been waiting for a new engine since January, and I finally got a rental around May. I hope to get that call soon, but my service manager said January 2025 too.

How did you manage to get a rental? I’ve been trying to arrange one, but they told me I can’t since my car is in a dealership in another state (it broke down over Christmas and I live two states away). I’ve been without a car since then.

That sounds awful… The dealership set everything up for me. Just be persistent!

I finally got a loaner yesterday! It took 10 months though

They only offered me $40 for a rental, and it had to be a Ford… good luck finding a $40 rental in the Bay Area.

That’s frustrating! My rental was all set up by Ford, and they even covered the $2,600 bill for my last month.

I got my car back and it’s driving great! Wishing everyone good luck with this stressful recall.
