Need new shocks, rebuild or replace?

Looking for the best place to buy replacement shocks for my Gen 1. Is it worth rebuilding instead? Who does the best work? Just picked up a 2011 with 50k miles and want to freshen it up. Low miles, but it’s still 14 years old and all stock except for an air intake. Appreciate any advice! Also, just got it waxed and sealed… will share pics this weekend!

Rock Auto is a solid choice for new ones. A lot of people also recommend TSW Offroad for rebuilds.

Does Rock Auto carry the factory Fox shocks?

Yeah, they list them under Motorcraft, but they’re the real Fox shocks.

I got mine from Summit Racing—good price and fast shipping. Rear shocks are an easy swap, but the front ones take more effort. If you’re doing it yourself, grab new bolts and nuts. Front torque spec is 406 ft-lbs, so make sure you’ve got a torque wrench that can handle it!

I used TSW’s shock exchange program and was really happy with it. They upgrade the seals and improve the valving—it feels better than stock now.
