Mustang just died on me… won’t start at all… any ideas?

I was driving and slowing down to make a turn when my Mustang lost all power. Tried starting it again but it won’t even crank… no sound, nothing. Tried jump-starting, didn’t work. Hit the starter to get the solenoid to go, but still no luck. What could be causing my car to just lose all power like this?

Maybe a loose battery cable?

I unplugged it and plugged it back in, but it still won’t start.

Did you check how much oil is on the dipstick? Make sure you wipe it off first.

I just changed the oil less than 1000 miles ago.

Yeah, but how much is on the dipstick now? 1000 miles is plenty of time for a leak.

You have gas, right?

Yep, got plenty of gas.

How old is your battery?

Check your fuses. Could be an alternator problem, maybe it’s overcharging or undercharging. When it died, did it just shut off normally or was it more of a sudden stop?
