Labor time for replacing all 4 O2 sensors on a 2016 Ford Explorer 3.5L?

Hey everyone, I’m planning to replace all four O2 sensors on my 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum 4WD with a 3.5L engine. Does anyone know the approximate labor time for this job?

The labor time for all four sensors should be about 1.1 hours total. That’s 0.6 hours for the two front sensors and 0.5 hours for the two rear sensors.

Thanks for the breakdown. That sounds pretty reasonable for a shop to handle.

If you’re doing it yourself, it might take a bit longer depending on your tools and how accessible the sensors are. Make sure to have a good O2 sensor socket.

Good point. Some of those sensors can be tricky to reach, especially on the AWD models.

Just replaced mine a few weeks ago. The rear ones were easier than I expected, but the front ones were a pain because of the limited space. Took me about 2 hours in total.

That’s good to know. Any tips for getting to the front sensors?

@Cassian
Use a swivel extension with the socket. It saved me a lot of time!
