Is the 2025 Mustang Mach-E Falling Behind or Still Looking Sharp?

It seems like most complaints are about the charging port, but I think the other improvements are pretty solid, like the heat pump and lower MSRP. Plug issues can be fixed with an adapter anyway.

People criticizing the port don’t get how car design cycles work. The NACS announcement was made late in the design phase, so Ford couldn’t just add it right away.

@Eliana
But if they can add a heat pump, they could have done NACS.

True, but port changes are classified as major, so they couldn’t just squeeze it in last minute.

Honestly, an adapter solves this issue for me, so it’s not a deal-breaker.

The real issue is charging speed. The Mach-E takes longer than competitors to add range. It’s okay but could be better.

@Sydney
Charging speed could improve, but my kids are never ready to go when the car is. So for family trips, the extra time doesn’t matter as much.

Same here. With the family, we stop long enough for charging, so the difference doesn’t matter much.

With my family, I find we wait a little longer than necessary, but I’d love more range on a single charge to reduce stops.

I’m working on a calculator that gives realistic range comparisons, but yes, real-life driving time is key.

No idea why the slow charging isn’t a bigger complaint among owners. Ford seems to have improved it a bit on newer models.

Charge speed has more to do with the battery and system, not just the port.

@Fallon
Agreed, but the article blames the charging port, which is misleading.

Frunk has drain holes, so you can load it with ice and drinks. I used it as a cooler at my cousin’s wedding!

Ice is great, but imagine a frunk full of wings! Instant party.

@Malachi
Line it with foil to avoid a greasy mess!

Line it with foil to avoid a greasy mess!

Or just spray it with dish soap and hose it down after!

That’s why the drain holes are there!

@Malachi
Clean it well afterward, or you’ll have ants or worse, maybe a raccoon trying to pry it open.

Is the frunk insulated like a cooler?
