Any specific reason you’re hesitant? It seems like a reliable model to me. I would’ve considered the 2011 since it’s cheaper, but the dashboard design is a nightmare

The 2019 model doesn’t look much different from the 2018 based on what I’ve seen. I feel like I’m losing money there. It has cloth seats and some functionality loss probably due to the trim. If I’m going for the next generation, shouldn’t it come with the new transmission? That’s the main upgrade between the two generations

For just 5K more, you could get a car that’s 6 years newer and has the better automatic transmission

If the car you’re suggesting is 6 years older with double the miles, I really doubt that’s a good buy purely for reliability

Those miles are mostly highway, so it doesn’t mean it was driven hard. I gave you my reasons for not buying it used since I think they’re often worn out

40K miles in a year and a half on a performance car in California? Even if they were highway miles, they were probably driven at high speeds the whole time. There’s definitely wear on that car

In that case, don’t buy used. A quarter-mile won’t show much on the odometer, but a few years of hard driving can be worse than just high-speed daily driving

What? I’m saying if someone puts 40K miles on a sports car in 16 months, that’s a lot of wear and tear. It’s not sustainable and likely harmful

You’re putting 40K miles on the car, which isn’t that different from putting on 25K. You’re keeping a steady speed for longer, which means fewer hot and cold cycles. This puts less strain on the brakes unless you’re stuck in stop-and-go traffic. Your cooling fans also don’t have to work as hard to keep the coolant cool in that situation. On the downside, your tires will wear out after 40K miles, and you’ll also need to change the oil and engine air filter that many times.

I agree I could find a better deal if I spent a few thousand more. It’s just a bit out of my budget. I could pay for this car outright, but I’m trying to build my credit and avoid taking on a payment I can’t handle
