Is my coolant too low?

What’s the engine size? 2.0?

Just top it off. Have you ever flushed the coolant? If not, you might want to do that too.

I had it flushed about a year ago.

Before anything else, you should do a pressure test and check for leaks. Top it up, sure, but if there’s an issue, you’ll want to know right away.

That’s solid advice. If it’s an EcoBoost engine, though, some coolant loss between oil changes is normal because of how hot the turbo gets.

I’ve got the same issue. There’s a small leak on the right side of the engine from a hose. I’ll fix it when the weather gets better. It’s not losing much coolant, and I don’t drive far.

Is it leaking onto your alternator by any chance?

@Lena
Nope.

You’re well under the ‘MIN’ line. Just add more coolant. If it keeps going low after 100 miles or so, then you might have a bigger problem, but if not, you’re good.

Looks a little low. Might just be water evaporating from the mixture.

That’s not how it works.

Yep, you’re low. Get the Ford-specific coolant, not the green stuff. Check your local auto parts store for it.
