If ordering from powertrain products

Be aware. Just had a friend take delivery of a 5.4 3v for his 2006 expedition he took the valve cover off and discovered Dorman vcts
Dorman phasers so he pulled timing cover and found plastic adjusters. Make sure you specify all oem. I repeat all oem with cast adjusters.
Lucky he was planning on doing a timing job on his old engine and had the cast adjusters and oem phasers on hand and he swapped them before install runs great.

Thanks for the heads-up.

It’s important to be aware of potential issues with aftermarket cam phasers like Dorman.

Sticking with OEM parts can help avoid future problems.

For crucial parts like phasers and adjusters in particular, it is imperative to specify OEM parts in order to prevent any problems with aftermarket substitutes. The incident involving your buddy emphasizes how crucial it is to use original components for engine maintenance and repairs in order to guarantee optimal performance and prevent issues. For performance and dependability, always choose OEM.
