Has anyone had their car accelerate too fast on its own?

I need some advice about my 22 hybrid AWD. Yesterday, when my mom was heading to the store, the car acted weird. On the first start of the day, as she reversed, it moved like the pedal was fully pressed, and the same thing happened when switched to drive. I’ll be calling the service center tomorrow to book an appointment. Has anyone else experienced this?

Could it be an issue with the floor mat? Sometimes aftermarket mats can get in the way.

I thought about that, but I have WeatherTech mats, and they’re not the issue.

Alright, then maybe check the switches near the pedals. They might be sticking or misaligned.

I checked the pedals and the switches. Everything seems fine now. I started the car again, and it didn’t happen this time. Weird!
