I wanted to share a good experience with my 2015 Ford Escape SE 4wd 2.0L Ecoboost: it handled Pittsburgh’s snowy roads with ease, like a team of sled dogs. I love this vehicle!
This forum often gets filled with complaints and negativity, but I get it… if my car broke down or I had a major issue like a tranny or engine problem, I’d be upset too. It just doesn’t feel as fun to talk about the good stuff. My 2014 Escape might not be the most stylish, but it’s been reliable. It’s got 118,000 miles and the only issue was a small one with the turbo waste gate solenoid. The dealership handled most of the recall stuff. If you take care of your car, it’ll serve you well.
@Erick
I totally agree! Not every vehicle is a lemon!
I’ve got a 2013 Titanium with 140k miles. Here’s the list of issues I’ve had:
- Radio is dead
- Muffler is rusted inside
- The back doors won’t open because of broken door panels
- There’s a grinding noise when idling in drive
- The front struts are shot (it sounds like a NYC yellow cab)
- The tires are bald
It still starts up fine and the engine runs smoothly when not in drive. It hasn’t left me stranded yet, so I’ll keep driving it until it quits on me.
My 2016 with 170k miles has taken me all over the country. I’ve had some issues with the wastegate solenoid and other minor repairs, but nothing major. The biggest mistake I made was not getting the 4wd option, but it still gets by just fine! Here’s hoping for 200k+ miles!
