SYNC has to be the worst media connection for cars. We have to reset SYNC to factory every month because it stops connecting. Then there’s the issue with it skipping tracks after a few seconds.
Hold both the Power button (center of the volume knob) and the Seek Right button for 10 seconds. If that doesn’t reset the system, you may need to do a factory reset. A SYNC factory reset erases all stored data.

I held the power and seek buttons together for about 30 seconds, but it didn’t reset. How can I perform a factory reset without using the media button?

Some say you have to switch it to FM first. I’ve also heard that your car needs to be running. You might also try the button combo on your steering wheel: volume down and seek right. If that doesn’t work, you should try disconnecting the battery to let it drain.
@Riley
Okay, I’ll try that and see if it helps. Thanks for the suggestion.

I noticed you hit media but not menu. Isn’t menu where the settings are?
@Riley
Yeah, I thought the same. Unfortunately, I can’t reset the system through the menu.

Is your phone still paired with your car? Have you tried unpairing it on your phone?
@Riley
My phone and car are unpaired. I tried scanning for Bluetooth on my phone to connect to SYNC, but it didn’t work. This problem is really frustrating.

Do you have an OBD2 reader? There might be a code showing if a module is failing. If not, AutoZone or any car parts store will check it for free.
@Riley
Great idea. I think I have an OBD2 reader somewhere. Thanks for the suggestion.
