My 2020 Ford F550 has a misfire on cylinder number 1. Can anyone help with what might be causing this? Also, I’m unsure of the firing order and where cylinder number 1 is located. Any diagrams or guidance would be appreciated.
Cylinder misfires can happen for a few reasons like bad injectors, spark plugs, or even low compression. Have you checked the spark plug or fuel injector on cylinder 1 yet?

Not yet, but I’ll check those. Thanks for the suggestion!
The firing order for your engine is 1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2. Cylinder number 1 is the front cylinder on the passenger side of the engine.

Thanks, that helps a lot! I wasn’t sure which side cylinder 1 was on.
You might want to check the fuel pressure or spark quality, as misfires can often be caused by weak fuel delivery or ignition system issues.

I’ll look into that as well. The truck has about 50,000 miles, so I’m hoping it’s not something too serious.
Here’s a diagram of the firing order. It’s 1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2, with cylinder 1 being on the passenger side front. Be sure to check the wiring around the spark plug too.

Perfect! That clears up my confusion. I’ll check everything out and let you know what I find.
