FMIC upgrade: Anybody upgrade their ecoboost intercooler?

I ordered a FMIC with Garrett core for my '20 Nautilus 2.7 and will be getting it installed the last Monday in December. Just curious for those who have done this with their Ecoboost Fords (or any other brand), how did it improve your performance? I’m interested in how it performed as you drove it. Thanks.

I already have a CAI, custom cat-back exhaust with an x-pipe replacing the resonator, pipes upsized to 2.5”, a race muffler, and a tuner from Race Chip.

Get rid of the tuner from Race Chips and get a real custom tune for your truck. It’ll make significantly more power than the trash tunes from Race Chip.

MPT, Unleashed, and Livernois all have great tunes for the 2.7/3.0L Nano Ecoboost.

The intercooler on my F150 made a huge difference in keeping IATs down and timing up.

@Maeve
Thanks

I never got around to an actual intercooler upgrade on my SHO because they didn’t exist at that time.

If I had, I suspect my SHO would’ve been running 11s in the 1/4 instead of 12.4-12.5.

With everything I had done, heat soak was my major limiting factor, besides the physical fuel system not being able to push as much E85 as I wanted.

@Teagan
Okay. Same for my '14 Fusion 2.0. BOV and FMIC were the only two upgrades I never got around doing.

Yes, on the Mustang, it woke up the car. Went with the CVF Fab street unit.

Awesome!!

I want to install a hidden front winch on my F150, but it goes where the factory intercooler is. I’ll eventually get the Cobb FMIC and install their stage 2 tune as well.

Nice!
