First truck ever... finally got an F-150!

I’ve been eyeing trucks for years, always thinking I’d have to settle for a used one because prices have been so high lately. After trading in my SUV for a new minivan, we’ve been a two-minivan household for the last two years. I kept watching and waiting, but with the new van, the finances just didn’t line up.

Two years ago, I landed a new job and promised myself I’d use my bonus as a down payment. I’ve been responsible long enough — it was time to replace my 2010 Toyota Sienna.

So… how’d I do?

2024 STX with running boards and the extended range tank. Couldn’t be happier! This is what waiting and making a responsible purchase should feel like.

Just wanted to share my excitement. My buddy even said I finally got my man card back :laughing: (shaved the beard a few years ago…).

Looks good, congrats on the new truck!

Welcome to the family!

2.7L?

Yeah, 2.7 V6 EcoBoost. Mostly for commuting and some recreation. Didn’t need the V8 for towing, so this seemed like the best fit.

Same here… I’ve got the 2.7L and zero complaints.

Solid choice!

Congrats! I love my '24 STX… perfect trim for me. Don’t care about heated seats or steering wheels, but still got the 12" screen, big gas tank, and bucket seats. Leather would’ve been nice, but I’m not paying $20k more for a Lariat just for that.

@Scout
That’s exactly how I feel. We’ve got the luxury features in the minivan… this truck just needed safety features and Apple CarPlay. No heated seats, no sunroof, no leather—don’t miss them at all. The extended range tank is a beast!

@Logan
If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you pay out the door? I’ve got $20k to put down but every dealer I talk to is quoting $48-50k for an STX, which feels high.

It’s probably location-dependent, but I saw a few 2024 STXs around here going for $46-47k out the door, including taxes and tags. MSRP was around $54k, marked down to $42,600 with some added features.

The STX package is nice… I like the colored stitching on the seats and the colored vents.

Yeah, it’s the perfect balance of what I need and what I don’t want. I wasn’t sure about the lime green vent accents, but mine are black, and I think that’ll age better. The stitching is a nice touch too.

The best part is the column shifter!

Squat it.
