I wasn’t planning to post just to say I got one… but I couldn’t hold it in. After over a year of searching, reading, second-guessing, and lurking around this forum, I finally pulled the plug.
It’s a 2023 XLT with the Luxury Package, 4k tow, Lane Keep Assist (I think), and a tonneau cover. Paid 47k in Ontario, Canada — not bad. It’s the dark blue color (maybe ALTO blue?), and I didn’t get it from a Ford dealer.
Trying to sort out what to do once the dealership confirms when it’s ready later this week. I’m thinking of getting:
Something to help the tailgate so it doesn’t slam down
A Bluetooth adapter so I don’t always have to plug my phone in
A roof rack or truck bed rack to mount a YAKIMA roof box — we camp a lot and might replace the Odyssey for those trips, but that depends on how much stuff fits in the Mav
I almost bought an ELEVATE rack with a tri-fold cover here in the GTA but someone beat me to it while I was still signing papers. Didn’t want to get stuff before the truck was officially mine.
Not sure if there are any must-haves at the moment except maybe vinyl lettering for the tailgate. It came with a Ford tonneau cover, but I don’t know if it’s a tri-fold or a single piece. I’ll probably swap it for a hard cover and add the ELEVATE rack.
@Javier
I’ve got the 2024 AWD with the 4k tow and I’m loving it. I do wish I had the fuel savings of the hybrid, but overall no complaints.
I used to drive a 99 Ranger 4x4 extended cab, and the Maverick feels bigger overall. It’s definitely got more space up front and the cabin is larger too since it’s got four doors. You do lose some bed space, though.
What color did you end up with? Mine’s black with chrome lettering on the tailgate, and for some reason there’s an Ecoboost badge on it that I haven’t seen on others . Got it new from the dealer.
@Tatum
Thanks! I was this close to buying the hybrid today… but the Ecoboost drove nicer and I don’t mind the bit of extra fuel cost. We’re planning to buy a camper soon for family trips, so the towing made more sense.
I’ll probably keep it for a few years and see if the 4k hybrid shows up on the used market — might swap then.
