Emissions Label for 2010 Ford Escape XLT

Hi, I’m trying to register my 2010 Ford Escape XLT (2.5 L 4-cylinder), but the hood was replaced with one from a 2008 model, and now I’m missing the emissions label required by the California DMV. I’ve searched online and even contacted a Ford dealer, but they told me they can only provide labels for vehicles that are less than 5 years old.

The websites I’ve found require me to upload a picture of the label to print and ship a replacement, but I don’t have the original label to take a picture of.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can obtain the correct emissions label? Is it possible or allowed to use someone else’s label picture, or should I try contacting Ford directly for assistance?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Since the hood is from a different model year, the emissions label might not match your specific 2010 Escape XLT.

It’s important to have the correct emissions label to ensure your vehicle complies with California regulations and can be registered.

It appears that the VIN is missing from the emission label. Its engine size is present, though.

At best, you would like the sticker so you won’t run into this problem again, however you might be able to acquire a picture at a wrecker.

Try contacting Ford directly to see if they have records of the emissions label for your 2010 Escape XLT.

If not, reach out to a local emissions testing facility or automotive repair shop for assistance. Remember to use the correct label to avoid legal problems.
