I bought a 2018 Ford Escape about a year ago. It had 11,000 miles on it when I got it, and now it’s almost at 22,000 miles. Recently, the check engine light came on, so I took it to AutoZone, and they ran a diagnostic code that indicated the crankcase pressure sensor is faulty.
Is this a common issue with the 2018 Escape? I’ve scheduled an appointment with the shop for Wednesday, provided they can offer a loaner vehicle. In the meantime, is it still safe to drive, and should I expect this to be an expensive fix?
Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!
While it’s not ideal to have a faulty crankcase pressure sensor, it’s not necessarily a catastrophic issue.
It’s hard to say if it’s a common problem for the 2018 Escape without more data, but it’s definitely something to get checked out.
Driving with a faulty sensor shouldn’t be too risky, but it’s best to avoid pushing your car too hard.
As for the cost, it’s tough to estimate without knowing the exact labor costs and part prices.
However, replacing a sensor usually isn’t a bank-breaker. Keep an eye out for any other strange symptoms, and hopefully, it’s a quick and easy fix.
