Can anyone help me figure out what this part is or where to find it?

I took this 4WD hub assembly off my 92 Ford F150 and I’m trying to replace it, but I can’t seem to find it online. The guy at O’Reilly’s was just as confused as me. I did find something similar listed for a Bronco though. Could my truck have been modified before I got it? Any advice would be helpful!

Most of the time, the parts store guys only know what’s on the screen in front of them. Getting parts nowadays can be like pulling teeth.

Yeah, that’s the hub body for the auto hub. From what I remember, the auto hubs have been discontinued.

I’ve seen them used on eBay, but they’re pricey. If you want, you can switch to manual hubs, which are easier to find and there are a few different styles.

I just replaced a Warn on my truck after 25 years and went with Mile Markers with a metal body.

Keep in mind that auto and manual hubs have different wheel bearing adjustments and locking systems. If you switch to manual, there’s a kit you’ll need. It’s about $40 extra.

Here’s a link to Jeff’s Bronco Graveyard for the conversion kit, around $140:

There should be a part number on the axle housing. You can use that to search online and find the Bill of Materials for the front axle.

Also, locking hubs are sold in pairs. Here’s the link to O’Reilly’s:

Not sure what part you have there, but you can probably find it between your thumb and pointer finger :smirk:

Could be a Ford-only part. I’d check with a dealership just in case.

You can find them on car-part.com. Just Google ‘92 F150 4WD front hub’ and it should come up.

Just switch to manual hubs and call it a day. The F150 and Bronco hubs are the same.

Looks like a standard 4WD hub to me.

An antique flux capacitor, maybe? :joy:

It’s sitting right in front of you
