I installed a leveling kit on my Ford F-150 and here’s what I found:

  • Choosing the Kit: Make sure it fits your truck’s model and year. I went for a professional install to avoid any issues.
  • Looks and Clearance: My truck looks more aggressive and can fit larger tires, which is great for off-roading.
  • Ride and Handling: The ride is a bit firmer, but nothing too uncomfortable. Handling feels slightly different, especially when turning quickly, but it’s manageable.

Overall, I’m happy with the new stance and the benefits outweigh the minor changes in ride feel.

Just be aware of potential warranty concerns.

After installing a leveling kit on my F150, I noticed several benefits and a few drawbacks. The truck now sports a more aggressive and balanced look, which I love.

The increased ground clearance is great for off-roading, and the improved visibility makes driving feel safer.

It was an affordable upgrade that also improved my truck’s towing and hauling capabilities.

However, the ride has become a bit firmer, something I’m getting used to.

I’m also mindful of potential warranty issues and the need for proper alignment to avoid extra wear on suspension parts.

Handling feels different, especially at high speeds, but it’s a trade-off I’m willing to accept for the benefits.

Installing a leveling kit on a Ford F-150 can offer several benefits and also comes with considerations to keep in mind. The considerations include:

  • Fuel Economy: Will the kit lead to a decrease in fuel economy after installing a leveling kit, which could be due to the change in aerodynamics?
  • Ride Quality: Depending on the kit, you may experience a change in ride quality. Some kits may cause the ride to become stiffer.
  • Handling: The handling characteristics of your truck may change, potentially leading to issues like “death wobble” on rough highways.
These are just some of the key considerations. You can also do your research on the kit before purchasing it for a better experience.
Some of the benefits of F150 leveling kit include:
  • Appearance: A leveled truck eliminates the factory rake for a more aggressive look
  • Clearance: Increased clearance at the front is ideal for off-road excursions and avoiding undercarriage scrapes

I agree with you, I look at my truck a lot more often than I tow with it. At the same time I’ve never had a problem towing.

Just installed a leveling kit on my F-150 and wanted to share my thoughts! Overall, I’m really happy with the results.

If you’re a young guy who thinks raised trucks are macho and have friends who agree, you’ll be glad you did it—it might even impress your girl.

Otherwise, you gain no real benefit and just spend a lot of money.
