Do you think the 2013-2014 Mustang GTs are going up in value? I’ve been keeping an eye on them, and the ones with low mileage are in the mid to high 30s. I love the 2014 body style, but for that price, I’m not sure. What do you all think?
I can see why they’re holding their value. The s197 body style is popular, and folks who are looking want the latest model with the least mileage. Sellers know that and will price accordingly. But, yeah, high 30s feels overpriced to me.
Yeah, I thought so too. I’m hoping to get one with around 30k miles since I’ll be using it to commute. Ideally, I’d want to spend less than 25k though.
That’s really low mileage for a 10-year-old car, so owners who’ve been babying them will ask for a good amount. You might find a deal, but maybe consider looking at ones with 50k-60k miles or increase your budget. It’s not a rare car, but it’s definitely still in demand.
I don’t think they’re going up in value more than inflation is pushing them. Where are you located? I’ve seen a few in the Midwest with under 50k miles going for less than 30k.
I’m in Texas. I’ve been looking for one with less than 30k miles since I’ll be driving it to work too. But everything I’m seeing with 20-40k miles is over 30k here.
Oh, you’re in Texas? Mustang territory for sure I’m here too. The thing is, 20-40k miles on a 10-year-old car is really low, so you’ll pay a premium. The price should drop more as the miles go up, like closer to the 80k-100k range. But if you’re set on super low mileage, you’ll have to spend a bit more.
I just picked up a 2011 GT with only 42k miles for 21k, though.
You don’t think 21k is kind of a premium for a 12-13 year old GT?
I’m not sure. Is that overpriced?
Nah, I don’t think so. It’s low mileage, and the market’s been wild lately. If it had 100k miles, I’d probably pass at that price.
Got it, thanks. I wasn’t too sure. Also, how would I go about getting it straight piped?
Honestly, I wouldn’t do it. It won’t make the car faster, and your neighbors might start hating you
Haha, that’s exactly what I want So, do I just hit up a local auto shop to get it done?
