Hey, are SVE wheels any good for a Mustang?
I’ve got the SVE 07-09 GT500 replicas, and honestly, I’m really happy with them! They’re the most affordable 18x9.5 option I could find, and they look awesome. Sure, they might be a bit heavy, but SVE offers better width choices compared to AM wheels. So, no complaints here
SVE is actually Late Model Restoration’s in-house brand. My friend has them on his ride, and they seem to hold up just fine. I even found a set I really liked, but unfortunately, I’d already bought my wheels before they came out. Still, solid choice if you ask me
I had a set of SVE wheels, and from what I remember, some of them are flow-formed (you can check on the product page), but most are cast. There’s nothing wrong with them as long as you know what to expect from cast wheels, they’re the cheapest way to make wheels, not the strongest, and kinda heavy. My wife cracked one after hitting a huge pothole (she even warned me about it before realizing the wheel was damaged), but that’s not uncommon for cast wheels. Replacement from SVE was only $160, so it’s really not too bad. For a full set of staggered 20s with lug nuts, TPMS, tires mounted, and shipped for $1600, I can’t really complain
I’ve got a set on my car too, and I love them! Each wheel is 9 pounds lighter than the performance pack wheels I originally had, and they’ve completely changed the ride. The roads in Atlanta are brutal, and there are spots that used to jolt me every time. Now? No more kidney punches! I’ve got better comfort, improved handling, and maybe even a slight boost in speed off the line, if I was timing things like that. I’ve driven about 2,500 miles on them so far, and honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever switch back.
