My guess is this is related to the recent recall, but there’s no fix yet.
If you paid out of pocket to repair a vehicle that is then recalled, all you need to do is show the receipt, and they’ll refund you. Looks like just lawyers trying to cash in. The plaintiffs will probably get a small payout in a few years.
@Miles
Makes sense, thanks for the info.
If you paid to repair the issue before the recall was out, they might help you get that money back.

Ford has already said that if your reservoir fell off and you paid to fix it, they’ll cover the cost. So dealing with lawyers at this point is pointless. If you go the attorney route, Ford will refund you, but most of the money will go to the lawyers. And just a tip, be careful about using lawyers for anything.
@Foster
The only reason to use attorneys might be if there was an accident because of the issue. In that case, liability could be an issue. But if it was just the cost of repair, Ford will probably pay back or reimburse you.
Great, I’ll get an extra buck fifty in two years.
Shocks
Sounds like they just want a piece of the money. I heard Ford might reimburse people who replaced theirs, but that only works if they have the records/receipts.
What’s this about? I just came back from a 500-mile road trip in my Badlands. Should I be worried?

There’s a recall for the rear suspension on the 21-24 Badlands and Sasquatch Broncos. The remote reservoir can corrode and fall off. Ford doesn’t have a fix yet.
@Linden
Thanks for the heads-up!
Got my recall notice yesterday. As others have said, no fix yet. The letter says a possible solution in Q1 of 2025.

Same here.

I haven’t had any issues with my rear shocks so far. I’ve got a ‘22 Badlands with 45k miles.
Anyone know how this works if I replaced the shocks with non-OEM? I didn’t want the same issue, so I went with Bilstein 6112. I’m pretty sure I’m out of luck, but just checking if anyone knows for sure.
