Anyone else want a Ford F100?

I thought something looked off about it…

Yeah, I was thinking of customizing my interior like that too.

The radiator you’re mentioning is actually the grille. The radiator is behind it but you can’t see it in the pictures. It’s probably not that great. Exposed radiators were mostly phased out in the '40s.

The interior shown is from a '70s Chevy C10.

If you’re looking for one, Facebook Marketplace is the best bet. Craigslist is pretty much done. Check out local classifieds too.

@Delilah
Thanks for the info, I agree the grille looks great. Still getting to know this truck.

I learned to drive on an F100 with three on the tree. But that interior looks like a Chevy to me.

My dad had a '79 F100 with a 300 I6 and also three on the tree. It was simple but ran forever, until my family outgrew it.

Trucks from '67 to '72 should be fine for power. But if you’re looking at '73 to '79, you might want to swap the cylinder heads.

If you’re doing a lot of highway driving, I’d recommend getting a Tremec T5 or AOD transmission for overdrive. I swapped my truck’s front brakes for larger OBS disc brakes from an F-350. I wouldn’t suggest going to a 4bbl carb, but a solid 2bbl should do for a mild build.

Or you could just leave it stock like many people do.

They look good but they’re tough to downshift with a load. They can be dangerous in the mountains. If they’re not well maintained, they can be a real problem. They’re nice to show off but I wouldn’t trust one as a daily driver.

My first vehicle was a '68 F100. I inherited it from my dad’s friend when he passed. I was 14. My dad would take me driving it on back roads. Then my stepbrother borrowed it after wrecking his minivan. I got the truck back a few months later on a flatbed with a seized engine and the cab full of trash. I can’t stand that guy.

@Josephine
That’s terrible, I’d be so mad too. He didn’t even take care of it.

I was furious. I haven’t talked to him much since then. This was in '95. His life’s a mess and he brings everyone down with him.

@Josephine
Well, he definitely got what was coming to him.

Hell yeah brother

I’m with you! And I’d keep that awesome '70s plaid interior too!

Love these classic trucks .

I’m sending this picture of the green one to my friend. He has an F100 just like it!

Damn! Those trucks are gorgeous!

What a beautiful classic. The black one is stunning.
