2021 F150 Grill Guard

I own a garage but I’m looking for a grill guard for my own truck. Maybe I can help out here since I work on several work trucks every week. I’m looking for a one-piece grill guard (if possible) for my 2021 F-150. It doesn’t have adaptive cruise control. I ordered a Luverne grill guard from car-id, but it never shipped. Today they finally told me that they charged me a month ago, but the grill guard was never in stock, even though the website said it was. They originally said it would ship on 9/21, but the manufacturer now says it won’t be available until at least December, so I canceled the order. Hopefully, I’ll get my money back. Has anyone here put a grill guard on their 2021 F-150?

Still no refund and still no grill guard. Has anyone found one that fits a 2021 F-150 yet?

I found one! I installed a Ranch Hand brush guard about three months ago. It’s the same as the ones for the 2015-2020 models, just with slightly different brackets.

Did it come with the brackets? I still haven’t found one that’s confirmed to fit. You’re the first person I’ve heard from. I’ll order it if everything is included.

I ordered one, too. I checked the installation instructions, and they only mention brackets for the bottom. Most have brackets in the middle as well, so I might have to make those myself. Are there 4 mounting points or just 2?

The Ranch Hand brush guards only have 2 mounting brackets on the bottom, but they are very sturdy. Yes, it comes with the brackets and all the hardware you need for installation. You’ll need to do some minor trimming around the tow hook area, but it’s not difficult at all.

I can trim it if I need to; that’s not a problem. I have a shop and have installed several guards. Some are quick to mount in about 20 minutes, while others with winch plates and wiring can take a day or more, needing tools like a torch, grinder, welder, drill, and more. I just couldn’t find one in stock for the 2021 model. There were very few options listed, and both Warn and Luverne have none available for shipping. I contacted both companies. I might make some top brackets since both Warn and Luverne have mid brackets that go between the bumper and grill valance.

Thanks for the information and the picture! I should have a similar one on the way to the shop between October 20 and October 25.

Awesome! Good luck on your continued search.

I ordered one like yours, and it should be here soon. My search is finally over, but I’m surprised there aren’t more options available yet.

Yeah, it’s surprising how few options there are. It took me a few months to get this brush guard. I got it from a local accessory shop that works directly with Ranch Hand, and the factory isn’t too far from me in South Texas. I ordered it in March and didn’t receive it until June. I still don’t see many on the 2021 models.

I talked to a local installer for Ranch Hand who couldn’t get one a few months ago. I actually ordered mine today from an RV website that had 3 in stock, so I hope it actually ships. Two other places said they had different ones in stock but then admitted they didn’t after taking my money. Luckily, I got refunded for both after threatening to charge back. Haha. We’ll see what happens with this order.

Yours is the first one I’ve seen on a forum for a 2021 model, and I asked in several places!

I installed the Ranch Hand GGF21HBL1 last night.

The good:
It fits great, and no cutting was needed. Just remove your tow hooks, put the bracket for the guard on top of them, and reinstall both the brackets and tow hooks using the old bolts. It takes about 10 minutes. You don’t reuse the rubber trim for the tow hook. Use 4 15mm bolts; if you try hard enough, you can reach all 4 with an extension between the air dam and the bumper trim. Leave them loose, then mount the brush guard to the brackets with 4 carriage bolts, and tighten everything once the guard is centered. The brush guard is very well made and is one solid piece.

The bad:
There are only 2 mounting points, while many others have 4, so it’s not as sturdy for pushing as the Westin, Rhino, or Warn guards I’ve used before. It’s definitely easier to install than those with a bracket between the grill and bumper, but I wouldn’t feel safe pushing with it. I hope a deer doesn’t push it back into the hood. Also, Ranch Hand doesn’t include the rubber bumper trim that other brands usually give for free; it costs an extra $63, which is pretty ridiculous.

I could also do without the nameplate and the little cowboy head on the front, but that’s a minor issue. Overall, it’s a decent product.

I wouldn’t worry about the rubber trim. I had it on mine, and it looked bad after about a year. I think the gloss black looks better, and if it gets scratched, it’s easy to touch up.

As for the mounting, I actually like that it doesn’t have a lot of unnecessary points. I’ve had 2 Ranch Hand guards (a 2013 and a 2016), and both were very sturdy with the tow hook mount.

I have a shop and actually use my other guards to push some older, non-working vehicles. I ordered the bumper because I’ve never seen one without it installed. I’ve even been paid by insurance claims to replace them on some brush guards, and it’s not a fun job! Haha.

I have some on my trucks and Jeep that are also winch mounts with multiple attachment points. I won’t say I care about that for my 2021, though. I’m just sharing the pros and cons of the Ranch Hand since I’ve never installed one from them before.
