Hi guys…
I’m considering buying a 2014 Mustang and would love to hear some reviews and insights from current or past owners. I’ve done some research, but I’d like to get some real-world feedback to help me make an informed decision.
Hi guys…
I’m considering buying a 2014 Mustang and would love to hear some reviews and insights from current or past owners. I’ve done some research, but I’d like to get some real-world feedback to help me make an informed decision.
The 2014 GT is a solid choice. There aren’t many specific issues to watch out for just inspect it thoroughly like you would any car. Have it lifted to check for rust (hood edge corrosion is quite common, but don’t let that deter you). A V8 Mustang will feel more familiar to someone used to trucks due to its RWD, V8 engine, and spacious engine bay, compared to most cars.
The main downside is that you could get a 2015 GT for the same price or a little more. The upgrades in chassis/suspension and interior for the 2015+ models are quite notable, so it’s worth considering. I just bought mine a month ago after looking at 2013-2018 models.
I really like my 2014; it’s a fantastic daily driver and a lot of fun. I’m getting about 22 mpg even with a heavy foot, which is nice. It’s definitely an upgrade from a Dart. However, the price you’re seeing is quite high. I managed to get mine in perfect condition for $12k.
The 2014 V6 is a solid and enjoyable car, suitable for daily driving. Ensure it hasn’t been mistreated, request the maintenance history, and if you’re not very knowledgeable about cars, either bring someone who is or have it inspected by an independent mechanic.
I’d say go for it! I bought my 2013 GT with 100k miles for $14.5k, and now I have 125k miles on it. The only repairs I’ve needed were replacing some sway bar bushings and the purge valve, which weren’t costly. Although the engines are different, the 3.7 is still known for its durability.
Edit: The price does seem a bit high, but car prices have increased in my area. If I were to buy my exact car again, it might cost around $18-20k based on current local prices. I’d recommend checking the prices of similar cars and, if you’re set on a Mustang, consider waiting and broadening your search area. You’re likely to find a better deal if the price doesn’t seem right.
