2013 F150 Headlights Recommendations

I’ve been upgrading the factory lighting on my 2013 F150 FX4 over the past few months, starting from the rear and moving to the front. I’m happy with the results so far! Before I buy new headlights, I’d love to hear any recommendations or experiences you’ve had.

I found these headlights on Amazon. Performance seems good, although the LED light bars are not very visible during the day, which is fine for me. Installation looks straightforward, and the price is reasonable. I plan to swap the halogen bulbs for LED equivalents.

For fog lights, I’m considering either swapping the HID bulbs for LED ones or replacing the entire fog light assembly with a true LED design since the current ones are cloudy. Some reviews suggest minimal improvement in light intensity, making a simple bulb swap seem preferable. I’m leaning towards just replacing the bulbs.

Thanks for any feedback or suggestions!

I recommend sticking with OEM parts. I have a 2013 FX2, and mine has the factory HIDs.

I agree with Leeland. I also switched to OEM HIDs, but I replaced the bulbs with Osram CBI ones.

For the fog lights, I replaced the original halogen bulbs with Lasfit switchback fog lights. They are LED and have multiple functions. The normal setting is 6000K and very bright, and you can switch them to amber or yellow for bad weather. I really recommend them.

Definitely go for OEM HIDs. If you can’t, these would be the next best option, in my opinion.

Thanks for the response. Indeed that is the challenge as I’m looking to convert the factory halogens to HIDs.

Thanks! Normally, I would agree, but I’m looking to switch to HIDs. The lenses on my factory halogen headlights are worn out and cloudy. Can you tell me more about the swap you did?

The fog lights you mentioned sound great too! Do you have a link to them? I’m also curious about how you switch between the white and yellow light settings. On my vehicle, the fog lights can only be ON or OFF, so I’m not sure how that would work.

Thanks! Is there a way to get a set of OEM lights with HID capability that I can just swap for the halogen version?

Not that I know of.

I always prefer OEM. I had a 2013 with the OEM HIDs, and I loved them. They provided better lighting than my current Lariat with the factory LED lights.

I replaced my regular bulbs with good quality LEDs, which really improved the stock halogen lights. However, I eventually want to upgrade to something with projectors. I just can’t spend $800 for a pair of headlights.

The set on eBay for around $200 looks decent, but they’re black. I don’t mind the look, and I want them to be factory style and plug-and-play if possible. But since I have a chrome package Lariat, I need chrome housings.

They do (or used to) make them with chrome housings too. If you decide to buy them, I recommend replacing the projector because I think the output is actually lower than the standard halogen.
