2011 F150 power seat issue... won't move forward?

I’ve got a 2011 F150 XLT, and I’m having trouble with the driver’s side power seat. All the electrical controls work fine, and I can hear the motor engage when I try to move it back. But it’s already all the way back, and it doesn’t even try to go forward—no sound or anything. I’ve checked the fuses, and everything looks good there. I don’t know much about wiring, so I’m stuck. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

Sounds like a bad switch. If it’s not engaging at all when you try to move it forward, replacing the switch should fix it.

I had the same issue with mine last year. Swapped the switch, and it worked perfectly after that.

@Evangeline
Good to know. Is it hard to replace? I might have to give this a try.

It’s not too difficult—probably a 5/10 on the difficulty scale. You’re just replacing the button itself. There are some good videos online if you need a guide.

Here’s a link to one that helped me: YouTube Video.

If you’re ordering the part, check out RockAuto. They usually have good prices for stuff like this.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll look there first.

Let us know how it goes once you replace it. I’m curious if that solves the problem for good.

Will do! Hopefully, I can get it fixed this weekend when the part arrives.
