1964 ford falcon issues

Hello. I have a 1964 Ford Falcon with the straight 6 engine I just got this car and it has a tube coming out of the oil cap. I have enclosed a photo. Is this normal? Smoke comes out if it when the engine gets warm.

The tube is for ventilation.

Smoke is normal, but a lot means worn parts.

Get it checked by a mechanic if it’s too smoky.

Hey there! That tube coming out of your oil cap on your 1964 Falcon with the straight 6 engine is actually pretty normal for cars of that era. It’s most likely a road draft tube, which helps regulate pressure in the crankcase by venting crankcase gasses. Smoke coming out of the tube when the engine warms up can also be normal, as long as it’s just a faint wisp and not thick smoke or accompanied by any other weird sounds or performance issues. If you’re concerned though, it’s always a good idea to consult a mechanic to make sure everything is venting properly.
