Why is only one tire showing low pressure when all 4 are low?

I have a 2024 Mustang. The temperature dropped 20 degrees, so it makes sense that the tires are low. But why is it only alerting on one tire?

It will alert for the others once they get a little lower. The screen shows whole numbers, while the TPMS reports decimal values.

Yeah, the threshold is probably around 25.0 psi. One tire might be at 24.9 and another at 25.1 or something like that.

@Alaric
This is probably the closest to what’s happening. Typically, the system uses an ADC, and the values are rounded to make them easier to read, which explains the small difference in pressure readings.

I’ve seen it where one tire goes below a threshold and then comes back up. It could have dropped to 24 psi, triggered the alert, and then went back up to 25. The others probably just stayed at 25.

Try switching to kpa instead of psi. You’ll see a bigger difference in pressure.

One tire could be at 25.9 psi while the one triggering the light might be at 25.0 psi. Either way, all of them are low.

I love this app. Last week I was at the shooting range when I got a notice that one of my tires was at 17 psi. The guys around me were ready to help. One had a tire plug kit, and the guy next to me had a Rivian with an onboard air compressor. They fixed it up while I watched. It was funny, though, a 5.0 V8 getting saved by an electric Rivian!

It’s just rounding. The system only shows whole numbers.

It’s called a dead band. The alarm probably triggers at 24 psi but won’t go off until it reaches 32 to account for fluctuations. The tire that triggered it likely hit 24 psi and then came back up to 25.

Is it cold where you are, OP?
