Why does Ford treat US customers this way?

Look up the chicken tax; it’s the reason we don’t get many great trucks here.

That’s only why we don’t import European trucks. Ford assembles its US vehicles here, so it’s unaffected.

Looks way cooler than what we get!

It’s not Ford—it’s the EPA.

No, it’s Ford and the other automakers. They want you to buy an expensive luxury truck, not this.

Can’t haul anything in it without worrying about scratches!

Actually, the EPA rules just made a loophole that automakers jumped on, which keeps these big trucks popular.

Single cabs have a shorter wheelbase, so EPA rules make them need better mpg. That’s why most trucks here are big.

This is the truck I’ve been looking for!

At least they don’t give us those halogen headlights here—they look awful!

My first vehicle was a 2007 Ranger single cab. Loved that truck.

They even made a PHEV version for Australia!

Could they add extra weight in the bed as a factory “traction package” to meet emissions? Customers could just remove it later.

Sort by top of all time, go down nine posts, not counting ads.

Blame the government, not Ford.

People in the US buy all the extra features even if they don’t use them. Most truck owners rarely tow or haul anything significant.

Who cares? It’s just a Ford.

It’s a mix of CAFE standards and fragile egos.

Car companies don’t hate customers—the government does.

A single cab would be amazing!
