Which is better, 2014-2015 Camaro SS, 2016-2018 Camaro SS or Mustang GT 2015-2017?

Trying to figure out which of these cars is more reliable. Any advice?

Both are solid choices, but the Mustang GT, especially the 5.0 Coyote engine, is known for its reliability. Plus, this is a forum with a lot of Mustang fans, so the choice might lean that way!

Exactly this. Honestly, all of them are reliable. But comparing the 5th gen Camaro to a 6th gen or an S550 Mustang isn’t quite fair. The 5th gen looks dated compared to the others. I’d say the S550 looks better overall, and it has the added bonus of better visibility.

I’ve had experience with all three. If you’re comparing stock setups: the LS3 Camaro and automatic S550 5.0 are tied, followed by the manual S550 5.0, and then the 6th gen Camaro SS.

Reliability-wise, all are good, but the 6th gen Camaro SS has some quirks. The cylinder deactivation can cause lifter failure—it might never happen or it could hit at 20-30k miles. The 8-speed automatic in the Camaro has a known issue called the A8 shudder. The manual Camaro doesn’t use cylinder deactivation but still has those same lifters. However, the Tremec manual gearbox in the Camaro is top-notch.

For the Mustang, the MT-82 manual gearbox is hit or miss—it might fail at stock power or handle 1000 hp like a champ. The automatic doesn’t have those concerns. Overall, the Coyote engine in the Mustang and the LS3 in the Camaro are both very reliable.

You’ve got to stop posting this, seriously. What kind of answer are you expecting that hasn’t already been given? You’ve asked this question so many times.

:joy:

The one that’s been taken care of properly is the better choice, hands down.

Alright, it’s time to just go for it. You’ve been back and forth for months—from Hyundai to Chrysler, Dodge, Infiniti, and now Camaro vs. Mustang. Through all this, the Camaro seems to stick around in your comparisons. You’ve made 60 posts asking which car to buy, and people are barely responding now. Do the research and make a decision. If you want a Camaro, just get it already.
