What Causes Low Engine Oil Pressure After an Oil Change?

Hey, what could be causing low engine oil pressure right after an oil change

Could it be a faulty filter too? I know it’s a long shot, but it’s possible

Yeah, I think that that could be the issue too

Then you’ll need to check that out man

It might be the oil pressure sensor acting up or maybe something else is going wrong

If it’s a serious issue, you might be in for a bigger problem

I think it’s probably just the sensor acting funny It only drops for a second and then goes back to normal

Those sensors can be pretty unreliable They wear out often and usually need replacing

First off, stop driving it for now and check your oil level If that’s good, it’s likely a sensor issue

The oil level is actually fine

Then you should check to see if the oil pressure is correct

I wouldn’t really worry about that If a filter fails, the oil usually just bypasses it and doesn’t get filtered But that shouldn’t affect the oil pressure much

Depending on the car, it could also be that the wrong oil filter was put on If it’s new, the car doesn’t really have a way to check the filter’s status It just goes by preset service intervals
