What Are the Recall Details for the 2016 Ford Explorer Regarding the Water Pump and Power Steering?

Hey, is there a recall on the water pump and power steering for the 2016 Ford Explorer before it hits 98,000 miles? I paid for the water pump replacement out of pocket, so I just want to check.

Okay, I checked, and unfortunately, there’s no recall on the water pump or power steering for your VIN. There was a recall for around 1,500 Explorers regarding the water pump, but your engine wasn’t involved. Anything else I can help with?

Does the steering system use fuses?

Yes, your Explorer’s power steering is electric. If you lose power assist, you’d typically need to replace the rack. There’s a fuse in the box under the hood, check fuse #31. There’s also a big 100-amp fuse, #102. If either blows, you’ll lose power assist.
