Thinking of getting a 2018 with 87k, is this a bad idea?

i’m looking at a 2018 with 87k miles. saw on carfax that the camshaft adjuster solenoid was replaced at 60k, and then the short block and spark plugs were done at 76k.

i’ve been reading up on the cam phaser issues and just want to confirm, does replacing the short block help with that or not? wondering if i should stay away from this one.

you’re probably having second thoughts for a reason… this sounds like a total mess honestly lol.

i drove myself crazy going back and forth before buying my gen 2 a few years ago. lucky for me, my 2020 never gave me any trouble.

cam phasers are actually the camshaft sprockets. unless those were replaced, the issue is still there.

if they’re not offering a really low price, you might want to skip this one. already having engine work and still possibly needing a $3-5k repair isn’t a good sign.

@Greyson
yeah, i’ve decided to pass on it. thanks again!
