Shaking and Stalling with No Codes

My 2014 Ford Escape has a problem where the entire car shakes quite a bit when I come to a stop while in drive or reverse, but it doesn’t shake in park. Occasionally, if I switch gears or brake too hard, the engine stalls completely, and I have to shift to park, turn the car off, and restart it to get moving again. This issue is not only annoying but also potentially dangerous.

I’ve taken it to a couple of mechanics, but the car isn’t throwing any codes for the issue. Most mechanics suspect the torque converter clutch might be the problem, but before I commit to spending a significant amount of money on repairs, I was hoping to hear if anyone else has had a similar experience and managed to fix the issue. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

It could be the torque converter clutch causing the shaking and stalling. Maybe have the transmission fluid checked, and getting a second opinion might help before you spend on repairs.

If your car shakes and stalls, consider potential causes like a torque converter clutch, engine mounts, transmission fluid, or sensors.
