I have a 2018 1.5 EcoBoost, and the only issue I’ve had was an O2 sensor replacement. I’ve heard about the coolant issue, but so far I haven’t had any problems. It has 92,300 miles on it, and I’m not too worried because I have an extended warranty that covers it. I do think the direct injection engine feels a bit strange when accelerating.
I wouldn’t touch the 1.5L. It’s the least expensive (normal looking) sedan from 2020. There’s a reason for that.
Do YOU think it’s worth it? That’s what really matters.
