I’ve got a 2013 Ford Escape that I bought new, and it just hit 119,000 miles. Noticed some brake fluid dripping near the front left tire, looks like it’s coming from somewhere in the engine area.
I’ve got an appointment at the shop on Monday to get it checked out.
Watched a couple of videos, and it seems like brake lines wear out over time. The rubber ones get stiff and brittle.
Thinking it might be a good idea to check all of them and maybe replace any that are getting old. I’d rather get ahead of the problem than deal with a brake failure while driving.
Since the car is over 10 years old and past 100k miles, does it make sense to go ahead and replace any worn-out lines now?
