All you need is bubble gum, duct tape and paint

I already used duct tape, but that would be a lot of bubble gum

Gorilla tape. That held together my first car
Depends on the rules in Germany
Here in the UK it’s only an issue if within 300mm of a structural part like suspension

If you go to the right testing facility it can be overlooked. Especially if it is sealed and painted. They will just hit it gently with a hammer. If the rust is visible they could try and poke it with a screwdriver, but I was told they rarely do that anymore because people complain about them poking holes in their cars
What year Fiesta is this? Have me out here worrying about mine now haha

The mk4/5 models rust very easily. My grandma bought the car new back in 2000 and never washed it in the winter. And in the summer all she did was a small wash with a sponge from time to time. So all the salt could do the work
@Prescott
Ah man if it was your grandma’s car definitely save it. Get it welded up

I would if I had the space and the money. I am bonded to this car since my grandma died in 2022 and I really miss her. But I just don’t have the resources

I’ve seen early mk 7s (08-11) with insane amounts of rust on the wings and back arches in the UK so still keep an eye on it
@Harper
I definitely will. I have some on rears I can spot ATM. It appears surface rust. I’m planning a lot of carbon fibre replacements (make it myself for my business) for it so that will stop the concern of rust on at least the outer panels. I wonder what the weight would go down to as well if basically every removable panel was made from CF instead
Almost looks like grinder marks on the left side

Yeah I went over it with a steel brush on a drill
Just don’t crash and you should be fine
It is an MOT fail but not the end of the world, you just need to find someone that does welding. What I would say is have a look over the rest of the car, welding can get expensive if there is a lot of it
@Harper
It has MOT (or TÜV, I am German) until November 2025, so no concerns there. I was just concerned that the structural integrity would be reduced, because I think welding these structural important parts require some skill and therefore will be very expensive. I will also disassemble the interior to remove the carpet and look for more spots
